Customer Testimonials

"Just a quick letter to let you know how pleased I have been with my 9" straight stitch. This walking foot machine is a work horse that has saved me thousands of dollars. It started out as a hobby making my own Boat covers, now it's a small part time business. I have enclosed some pics of my work.. - Todd Rubright

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes all TuffSew machines unique to the market?
It is very important for you to know that we sell durable, heavy duty sewing machines. We will never offer our customers an all plastic bodied sewing machine. There is no question that an all metal machine will sew smoother, quieter, and heavier than a machine with a plastic body. Today's sewing machine buyers wants a machine with all metal insides, including the frame and gears. Ultimately all metal parts will save the customer extensive repair costs down the line.

What is the history of walking foot sewing machines? Why are there so many brand names in today's market?
Decades ago, the first walking foot machines were created and marketed under the Thompson brand. Over the years the Thompson company faded out of business. TuffSew was one of the two companies who decided to fill Thompson's void in the market - offering walking foot sewing machines globally. Over the past few years (2008-Present) there was been an influx of walking foot sewing machine clones. These walking foot machines look similar, but they lack our warranty, our high level of before/after service support, and our tight manufacturing process controls. When you order a walking foot sewing machine from us - we stitch in each machine not once, but twice- to assure end-to-end quality control. Our lead technician regularly disassembles complete machines, and rebuilds them looking for ways to improve efficiency and durability.

When will my new TuffSew machine be shipped after I purchase it? What is normal a normal lead time?
Once you complete checkout, your new TuffSew machine will ship out the very next business day. We ship via FedEx ground. West coast orders will arrive within 1-3 days from your ship date. East Coast orders will arrive 3-5 days from your ship date. You will receive a tracking number via email as soon as your machine is picked up by FedEx. Faster shipping services are available. Please inquire before placing your order.

What if my sewing machine needs to be repaired? Where do I take my machine? Is there a commercial labor warranty? Is there a parts warranty?
Our principle engineer (who leads our service team) has been in the sewing machine business for over 30 years. If you are experiencing issues with your machine - our service team can offer you a few tips over the phone/email to get your machine running like new again. If we cannot get your sewing machine repaired over the phone, you are welcome to ship the machine back to us for a complete repair. Your warranty covers a 1 year parts and 90 labor warranty.

Which customers should purchase the TuffSew Straight Stitch machine?
You should look into purchasing the TuffSew Straight Stitch if you are sewing heavy duty fabric such as leather, upholstery, sunbrella, denim, or any other heavy duty material with a thickness greater than 4-5mm. This machine has a built in walking foot for these tough tuff-to-sew layers of fabric. The built-in walking foot evenly feeds your thick material from the top and bottom. Someone who is breaking needles or skipping stitches trying to sew heavy fabric on their current household sewing machine should look into this machine.

What are the differences of the Platinum and Platinum Plus?
The TuffSew Platinum has 100 built-in stitches. The Platinum Plus has 200 built-in stitches. The Platinum Plus is equipped with all 100 stitches that are built into the Platinum- but with an extra 100 stitches that enable you to sew letters, numbers, and other alphanumeric characters. Body wise, the machines are identical - they have all metal internal parts that will not crack or break over time (like machines built with plastic gears).

Does the TuffSew Quilting Machine make buttonholes?
Yes, the Quilting Machine will make an automatic built in, no-turn buttonhole. This means that while you are making the buttonhole, you do not have to turn the material around in between steps.

Is there a carrying case available for TuffSew machines?
Right now there is a case available for the TuffSew Quilter and Platinum sewing machines. It is available on our Accessories page.

Is my purchase secure?
Absolutely, we use a secure certificate to protect our customers. Once you hit the "Buy Now" button, you will notice a lock that pops up on your browser. Your credit card purchase is completely protected.

Is there a phone number I could call to reach TuffSew?
